We hope you have all been training up a storm! Hitting the trails is essential for preparing for the event and some of you may even be looking to make a trip out to St Albans for some training on the course in these last couple of weeks before the event.
If this is the case, please keep in mind that several parts of the course cross private property, access through which is only permitted on race day. The Convict 100 has long enjoyed the support of the local St Albans community and the owners of the private land, who are kind enough to allow access to all of you on race day, and race day only. Please respect this and avoid all private property areas – anyone crossing private land outside of race day is putting the long-term future of the Convict 100 in jeopardy.
The main section of Private Property to avoid is at the bottom of the 8 Mile Track on the 67km and 100km courses and the bottom of Blue Hill on the 48km course. The private property areas are marked on the course maps available on the website, and we ask you to consider these carefully when planning a ride.
Best idea is to drop us an email us via the link below and we will happily help you plot an epic training ride that avoids that area. If you are out riding the trails before race day and come across any signage indicating that you are entering private property you need to turn back immediately. Please do not ignore those signs and continue on.
