Course and River Crossing Update:
Riders should be prepared for some quick times on the course this year, NPWS and the local council/s have been, and continue too, work hard on repairing and upgrading the fire trail network in the St Albans area after the extreme weather last year. This means parts of the course have had a bulldozer down it recently, perhaps very recently! While this will remove some of technical challenge, the course is still to be treated with respect and riders should take care when travelling at high speeds downhill.
As mentioned in our earlier course announcement email we have had to revise the river crossing point. The normal river crossing location is now not suitable after changes to the river’s flow after the floods last year. Another suitable crossing point has been established (yes, you will still get you feet wet) just to the South of the old crossing point. To make up for the loss of distance riders will do a detour through one of the local properties before hitting the river crossing. Check out the new course maps in the Event Program.
We look forward to seeing you next weekend!
** DON’T FORGET: St Albans has no mobile reception, you will need to bring cash for all purchases **
