To all registered Convict 100 riders, I am afraid we have devastating news. After spending time in St Albans over the last couple of days we have had to make the tough decision to postpone the Convict once again. While the trails are in a suitable condition, the paddocks used for parking and camping are not. These critical areas have deteriorated over the past week with consistent rain in St Albans. The forecast between now and race day means they aren’t going to be ready in time to accommodate even a handful of cars, let alone the hundreds of cars and camping areas needed for the event.
It is heartbreaking to get so close to the event proceeding once again only to have to pull the plug. Our team, our suppliers, the community of St Albans and the local authorities had worked hard to prepare an alternative course that captured the spirit of the Convict and had looked forward to seeing the riders tackle the new course. Hopefully the silver lining is that more of your favourite Convict 100 trails will be reopened and ready for the event.
The Convict 100 will now return to it’s usual date on Saturday, 6th May 2023
