Transfers and Course Changes

Please note that online entry transfers and course changes are still available up until midnight on Wednesday 28th April.

With the course changes for this year please be aware that, for the 100km and 68km courses, neither of them offers an easy ‘short cut’ option should you need to downgrade while you’re out on the course on race day. You can downgrade on the course from the 100km down to the 44km but cannot go from the 100km to the 68km, or the 68km to the 44km like you were able to do in previous years.

Therefore, we ask that you carefully consider what course distance you have entered into before starting the event. On race day, once you head out on the long loop from the bottom of the 8 Mile track and then out past Claires Bridge, the best way home will be to continue on the same course. We have had, and expect to have this year, some riders finishing as darkness descends, so if that doesn’t sound appealing it might be a better option to downgrade online before race day, and this can be done up until midnight on Wednesday 28th April or after this time it can be done in person at registration on Friday night or before your race start on Saturday morning.

Camping & Food Options

If you are coming down on Friday to camp the night before (and we recommend you do), there are plenty of spots at the traditional camping sites at the flat rate of $10 per vehicle payable to St Albans RFS as you arrive. If you are planning to use the premium camping along the river on private property please be aware that this is by private arrangement with the landowner, not the event organiser. This could cost you between $15 – $20 per person with none of it going to the Rural Fire Service.

On Friday night and Saturday, the Settlers Arms Inn will be open and is a very popular choice for riders camping at the event. There has even been a whisper they might be serving up a free beer for each rider post-event as well…

A number of food vendors (cash preferred) will also be open at the Event Centre on the Friday night and during the event on Saturday. The ladies from the Portuguese Kitchen will be serving up their delicious chicken burgers and the like, the team from Turkish Golzeme will also be cooking up a storm and, new for this year, the smokers from Black Bear BBQ will be cranking at the event centre as well. And never fear, Vince will be serving up the coffees on Friday and from early on Saturday morning.
